DRYING OUT ON THE WALL - Getting ready for THE TRIP! | SAILING WAYZGOOSE WARRIOR Ep 11

After a week in Haslar Marina in Gosport we head off to get a few jobs done. We took Wayzgoose up the river to a town called Fareham where there is a public slipway where boats can dry out for up to 48 hours. We had to put an anode on the prop shaft and replace a skin fitting so this was the perfect place to do it. A few months back we changed a skin fitting and a seacock for one of those plastic Trudesign but the thread of the skin fitting was too short so we got a longer one and replaced it. As always the job didn't go as smooth as we would have liked and after two little o-rings fell in the bilge we had to run to the shop to get a new part. Once the job was done we just had to wait for the tide to come back in and go to Cowes. Before our channel crossing we wanted to practice some night sailing as the crossing will take about 24 hours and we didn't have any night sailing experience. So we left Fareham and sailed off to Cowes at night. We couldn't record any of this as it was too dark and raining the whole time... The next morning we sailed to Whitecliff Bay, an anchorage situated on the east side of the Isle of Wight. This was the perfect place to set off on our big trip the next morning. We had both a beautiful sunset and sail. We were feeling positive about the adventure we were about to embark on.
