Dinghy Wire Rigging - Have you checked your rigging? ??
In this video the team at Sailing Chandlery talk about how to check your rigging to ensure its fit for sailing. It's very important to check your rigging when you have the chance, whether that's at the start of season, or at the start of an event when you're about to put your mast up and get on the water. Our top tip for checking your wire rigging is to: 1) Lay the wire out straight, ensure there are no bends or kinks 2) Check each end and each fitting for wear, bends or damage 3) Check around the fitting where it joins the wire, ensure there are no lose strands 4) Run all the way down the wire, ensure there are no wear points in the wire Here at Sailing Chandlery we have a number of different types of wire in stock in different diameters with a variety of fittings available to suit the wire and your dinghy. As well as swaging we also have a Taulrit machine so offer all types or rigging where traditional wire eyes with a ferule are used. Don't forget we also offer rope splicing too.
