We were still anchored in Long Bay St. John of the US Virgin Islands. We were grateful that the sailboat was working, no problems, and we were taking a week off to just chill and enjoy the sailing life. Steve and Easton started their morning with a run and some father-son bonding. They stopped by a piece of land that we had visted back in 2015. There was a cute little family we met and Steve was sort of hoping they would still be there. They weren't. Our neighbor boat was doing some trapese work with silks which was fun to watch that night. Malia was making mac n cheese while Steve cooked up some lobster legs. That night we played monopoly as a family. The next morning was Karver's birthday! We started the day waking him up with singing, balloons and presents. He was so excited, mostly for all the candy he got. We made him some French toast for his birthday breakfast and he spent the day playing with his toys. Afterwards Steve and I did a big workout before starting the day with boat activites. We took the whole family on the dinghy into town in Coral Bay. We got some groceries and checked out the old house we rented 8 years prior. The dinghy ride back was crazy and we all got soaking wet. When the kids got back the kids all took Karver out on the dinghy to wake surf for his Birthday. They had a blast! Malia finally learned to stand up on the foil board, Easton danced while he surfed and Kamden learned some new tricks too. Kami was inside making Karver a birthday cake. We all celebrating him that afternoon (He wanted cake right away) The next activity was family painting. They each painted something different and special to them. It was time for some snorkeling. When we haven't gotten in the water in a while we miss it. There is something about being in the ocean that brings such a peace and calm to our world. We didn't see much, but there was a turtle and some fish. A big rain storm hit and everything got soaked. The boys spent the night doing some fishing off the boat, a nightly routine. The next morning was of course, Banana Pancakes. Kamden then spent the morning trying to catch some shark, which we thought was interesting. We decided to make a plan for going south. Up until that point we felt pretty familiar with the areas, however everything south of the virgin islands would be new to us. We moved to Cruz Bay a little closer to the main area of St. John. We needed to get a few more groceries and specifically eggs for Easter. We did an Easter dinner in town which was pretty special. Then walked up to the grocery store. We got back to the boat and spent the evening dying Easter Eggs. The following morning the Easter Bunny came! He brought the kids their own blankets and a stuffed animal. Malia made a special Easter Breakfast with homemade blueberry muffins and the pink drink (homemade) from starbucks. We then set sail for Maho Bay. That Easter afternoon we went snorkeling as a family. It was super special and we saw so much sea life! We spent the night watching The Chosen, the perfect ending to celebrate the Savior's Resurrection and true meaning of Easter. The following morning we all got up bright and early and headed for some massive rocks in the dinghy. We were meeting up with the family on Colette to do some cliff jumping! When the boys got back they cleaned the bottom of the boat with Hudson on the sailboat Everyday Saturday. We spent the night watching the beautiful sunset with friends. It was the BEST week sailing the Virgin Islands.
