Bay of Islands Hansen Estate 2024

We extend our sincere thanks to the George Hansen Estate for their generious funding. Through their support, we were able to reach out to six schools across the Northland region. A total of 142 Northlanders had the opportunity to sail with us, they gained firsthand experience of life aboard a sailing vessel, explored local islands, connected with their heritage, and developed a deeper understanding of marine conservation. Throughout these journeys, students thrived and fully engaged in various activities, including dawn swims, beach cleanups, and multiple dolphin encounters. The trips sailed around the stunning Bay of Islands, with every group visiting Percy Island. Students explored the caves of Urapukapuka Island, collaborated with Project Island Song on weed management, cleaned remote beaches, hiked the Moturua Island track, and witnessed the beauty of dolphins and whales. We are deeply grateful for the support we've received and excited about the opportunity to continue empowering young people in Northland through these transformative sailing experiences.
