On we press with our sail through the Bunker Group of Islands, well reefs actually. Today we sail from Llewellyn REef to Fitzroy Reef, which has a similar shape to Lady Musgrave, in that there is a channel you pass through and anchor in lagoon area. It was a bit narly approaching and entering channel but we were lucky enough to arrive as a small fishing boat went through, which helped us establish exactly where the channel markers were. We battled the outward tide as we entered and had to crank up the motor just to make some headway. I went for a snorkel off the SUP. Coral and fish not amazing and visibility not great but still worth a look. I would go back again and try snorkeling from a different bommie. Enjoy us on our travels with Sailing Bakali

Artists pay tribute to the pregnant elephant who died due to someone stuffing a pineapple with fireworks. A pregnant elephant died in Kerala, India, of excruciating pain after it bit into a pineapple filled with firecrackers. The explosives went off in her mouth, damaging her jaw grievously. The farmers are known to put fireworks inside the food and plant it on the edges of their fields to keep away wild animals. The elephant's tongue and mouth were so badly injured, she wasn't able to eat. Eventually after few days, she died. Officials took her back to the forest in a truck and cremated her there. My quest for deeper water came to an end, and I sailed from Hota back to Yuminoshima Marina in Tokyo Bay, leaving in the wee hours of the day under the still of darkness. Once back in harbor, I was able to make some repairs and take Wahine out with friends and family.
