Felix Aerorig on a Prout 45
We head south through the Lefkas Canal and into the Southern Ionion to meet up with some friends chartering a yacht from our old employer - Neilson Active Holidays. We arrived early - they arrived late, so we had some fun on the beach until they arrived. TRANSCRIPT This blog is all about how he left two rocks Bay a bit reluctantly and we headed down south to the South Ionian seas. On the way down to the South Ionian we stopped to Preveza to charge up our batteries. As we've been living on the boat for a while we've been getting the kids more involved in some of the jobs around the boat - some domestic chores - they get pocket money for doing it. It's something that I've always wanted to try and do when we lived back in England but there was never time it was always quicker to do it yourself. But I really wanted to start a new life here and just get the kids more involved in the whole daily routine. So we heard that some of our good friends were coming out and they were going to charter a boat and so we were really excited to go and meet up with them and perhaps sail with them, so we headed south which meant going through the Lefkas Canal. It's quite a tricky place to get through. There's boats wanting to go both ways through the canal. It has silted up quite a bit so it is quite shallow in areas that it doesn't tell you on the charts so you've really got to have a little bit of local knowledge. And the bridge - the guy only opens it on the hour every hour and it's very precise. If you're coming from the north which we were, you have to wait for a while; you have to wait for the bridge to open and there's nowhere to moor up because it's too shallow at sides so you have to kind of just hold yourself there. And then when he finally opens it up you have to get through as quick as possible because he doesn't keep it open for very long because he's got to stop all the traffic that's getting on and off the islands. It is the only connection that Lefkada has to the main so you wait, the bridge opens and then it's like a mad dash to get through. Oh, he's starting to close it now! So we anchored off outside the harbour at Palairos. The next morning we got into our dinghy and we headed into the harbour and we continued our boat training with the children - teaching them how to use the outboard engine. So we arrived at the Neilson base in Vounaki. It's a new place; it's different to where we used to work but it's a really nice resort so we went to the marina to see if our friends had arrived and it brought back a lot of memories and memories of when we used to work for Neilson when we were flotilla skippers and it was actually turnaround day and it reminded us of those days where all the boats came back in and you have to get everything fixed and ready for the new guests to arrive. 'The turnaround day - fixing, unblocking..' We couldn't believe it when we saw all the Neilson boats in this lovely marina because we remember the days when they were at their other base and the boats were parked on the mud when they're not being used and there was just one pontoon so it was great to see how it expanded and the beach looked brilliant. It was really nice chatting to the staff there and sharing some of our experiences when we used to work for Neilson and it was really nice to hear from the staff about their experiences of working for Neilson now. When we went to the marina to see if our friends had arrived, we realised that they were on a later flight. On that day a lot of people are arriving or leaving so it turns out that the beach was not that busy and the guests were busy getting there and inductions and so forth. So we waited on the beach for them. The wind conditions were perfect and it was so great to get out on a Wayfarer with the kids and not have to put on all our wet suits and gloves and everything's keep warm. We're going sailing now! So when our friends finally arrived we took their kids off with ours so they could have a good time and so that the parents could unpack and get ready to set sail. When everyone was ready we went back to our boats and so the next day we were all ready to go. We lifted our anchor and off we went with our friends Craig and Jamie and their children around the South Ionian. We get our hands on a couple of rent-a-dent cars for 12 pounds a day and begin our land exploration of St. Helena! Amongst the wickedly steep one lane roads we explore the vacant St. Helena Airport, a fort at the top of the island, have a crazy Chinese/English fusion Karaoke night, go for an incredible dive with Manta rays, and then mix a custom version of Ramukanji on an antique organ in the biggest church in town. Totally cool! Much peace and love from Delos to you! Subscribe at http://youtube.com/svdelos This is our story, a story of three souls sailing around the world. It is a story about sailing and travel and adventure. But it's also a story about meeting amazing people and making life long friends. It's a story of people living their lives in an alternate way, in close connection with the beautiful people and amazing planet that we call home. I make travel vlogs sharing my ups and downs, adventures on motorbikes, sailboats, and vans. Instagram: @Finding_Simon Snapchat: Finding_Simon Twitter: @FindingSimon Donations: paypal.me/ShelbyandSimon Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/FindingSimon Merchandise: http://simonstiles.com/finding-simon/ :::::::FAQ::::::: - How do you afford to travel constantly? A: I travel really cheap, free camping, cooking my own meals, being as efficient as possible. I make my income almost entirely on YouTube but it's really tight. Ad revenue, patreon, paypal donations, merchandise sales and affiliate links bring in about as much as a part time minimum wage job, and I'm able to make that work. When it isn't enough I go back to work, doing photography mostly, sometimes commercial video projects, but it takes me away from my travels and videos. - How much does it cost? I spend on average $2000 travelling, most of which is gas, some repairs, food, and on average less than $200 on any eating out, shopping or extra curricular expenditures. I make $200 a month from YouTube and $400 from Patreon. The rest I make from my work. - What camera do you use? Sony A7ii, DJI Mavic Pro, Rode Videomic with Deadcat, Zihyun Crane 3 Axis Gimbal, DIY tripods and lights. - What is your bike? 1999 Yamaha Vstar XVS1100 with a Champion Escort sidecar. - What kind of boat is that? It's a 1979 Wharram Oro 47 - What're your plans? Fix it up, run nothing but green power, sail off into the sunset. - How do you find all these cool places? To gain access to my complete research you need to hit me up on Patreon, but here's a few sites I frequent: https://freecampsites.net/ https://www.campendium.com/ http://www.atlasobscura.com/ https://www.couchsurfing.com/ - What do you do for Internet? I use coffeeshops and libraries to upload episodes a few at a time, I also use my wifi antenna (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5T9lNM8Mukk&t=2s) and a data package on my phone (10GB) - How do you live on the road with a dog? It's really not as difficult as people seem to think. I spend most of the day with my dog anyways, especially if it's warm out in the middle of the day. I let the constraint of bringing my dog with me help me make some decisions, avoiding places that ban dogs, and spending more time out in nature instead of in the cities. - What happened to the girl? We decided to go separate ways (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPgxDIXxCjY&t=4s) - Are you rich or something? definitely not. I've spent some quality time homeless, I've struggled financially most of my life, and although I'm blessed with great friends and family as well as being able bodied white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to travel the world. You need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, time with family, and often your career but it is possible. - Why don't you have 10x more subscribers? My channel isn't that old, many of the bigger channels you can compare mine to started putting out videos a couple years before I began. I could always use your help sharing my videos, spreading the word, and connecting with cross promotional opportunities. Editing and travelling tend to take up all my time. - Where are you now? The top perk on my Patreon page is a live link of my location on google maps so you can get an active idea of where I am currently. If that's not an option for you there's also Instagram and Instagram stories that give you a much better idea of what I'm up to today.

The reason we decided to keep the boat in Charleston is that it is above the hurricane belt and famous for its mild winters. Yeah, right. Last week it snowed, and it snowed and we huddled down with a broken heating unit and tried to keep ourselves warm with candles and a small heater. All very romantic in theory. The reality was very different. Thanks so much for watching! Please subscribe, leave a comment and give a thumbs up. Bikini Beach Bummin' in Daytona! SailAway Ep. 12 - This week in our sailing vlog we learn to accept the folly of plans and enjoy the present as we sail into two different and really cool marinas in the Daytona Beach Florida area, both with different vibes to offer. With uncooperative wind and a finicky STILL overheating sailboat (though not as bad), we accept that sailing the Bahamas will have to wait a bit. But it's nothing to really complain about when our sailing world has the sun, the beach, bikinis, cold drinks, and each other. All a part of sailboat travel and living on a sailboat!

After a long month of preparing and provisioning we leave La Rochelle to cross Biscay Bay (Golfe de Gasgogne) a notorious passage particularly at this time of year. We hit the perfect weather window and have a magical shake down on a brand new boat and a newbie team of crew. We reach the Canary Island ahead of a storm and unwind before we leave for our Atlantic passage ------------------------------------------------ Please subcribe at https://www.youtube.com/c/sailinghangtime Recommened Videos: https://youtu.be/eMUZ5mzoRlI https://youtu.be/nnfu2WxfYjw Posting on: https://www.facebook.com/sailinghangtime https://www.instagram.com/sailinghangtime/ -------------------------------------------- About us: We are a family of four who have been living on our boat for the past 2+ years with our two boys and our newest addition, a Havanese pup named Ruby. We worked hard in our 20's and 30's and built a company that has an amazing team managing it and allows us to work remotely and take time to enjoy this time with our fmaily. We love adeventure, sports and an active lifestyle but also take pleasure in a great meal or a sunset gin and tonic. Boat life is challanging and busy but we have been learning as we go and have a great appreciation for the sailing community and the willingness of others to teach and share skills. Überraschend: Bisher konnte die Fareast 23 R noch nicht die Herzen der deutschen Segler erobern, trotz hochwertiger Ausstattung und guter Segelleistung.
Our 3 new sails are beautiful! But getting them was not so beautiful! Sailing to Athens to pick them up (and drop a guest off at the airport) when there is a storm running, is something that a sailor never wants to be forced to do. We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures! We would love to hear from you. Especially if you are interested in doing something crazy like we! Maybe we can help answer some questions you have? Thanks and enjoy.

Vivid footage taken from some of the South Island's most scenic, stunning, and beautiful locations including: Tunnel Beach, Nugget Point, Lake Tekapo, Lake Wakatipu, Mount Cook, and various attractions along the way. The South Island is one of the most incredible places I've visited on earth and every sight on the entire island is worthy of a postcard. Each hill you crest and every corner you turn reveals a more splendid view than that last.
We continue working on S/V Gone with the Wind. We begin on the exterior of the sailboat in the cockpit with primer and paint. Ashes rain from the sky, preventing us from painting. Shawn constructs a new instrument panel for the helm. Video uploads will now be every other Thursday. We are working really hard to finish up Gone with the Wind and want to prioritize getting her ready to sail. We will continue to document our journey and hope to return to weekly videos shortly. Thanks for understanding! We are Shawn, Jessie, Mojo and Voodoo. We started our Youtube channel, Big Easy Sailing, to document our journey on our 1972 Gulfstar 36 sailboat. We've been together for 20 years and moved everywhere from our hometown of New Orleans to Alaska to Denver. Now our home will travel with us as we travel across beautiful blue waters. Canary Islands to the Caribbean. We set sail with the same two crew members we had on board for the last passage. This was our first real blue water passage on Annecam, it was a fast start, slow in the middle with a nice finish. We zigged and zagged our way across, I explain why in the video. Stay tuned as the re-makes keep coming, all for your enjoyment and for us to keep our memories. In our last episode, our knock-down caused our GPS to basically fry. We were worried we would have to replace this $3,000 piece of electronics. So our first mission (in this step) here in Santa Marta, was to go deep inside own to find a possible solution.
