Not long after we arrived in Colombia, we ran out of coffee . We decide to take a trip inland with the mission to get some good Colombian coffee directly from a plantation. So we took a trip to the mountains, to a town called Minca, on our hike to our awesome hostel (Casa Elemento), we stopped at a beautiful waterfall , and later on got to relax in the largest hammocks EVER, before taking a tour of a Colombian coffee plantation and getting our very own bag of top quality roasted coffee. A Fish Attracting Device, or "FAD" as it is more commonly known, is high on every sailor's list of concerns when sailing in Indonesia. They come in all shapes and sizes. Usually towed out to deep water to catch pelagic fish, a "Rumpon" can be made of anything - old oil drums, bits of bamboo and palm trees and any old flotsam or jetsom. A "Bagan" is a floating fishing platform, generally manned and left in shallower water. We left with a fish for supper and they said goodbye wearing our t-shirts. So everyone was happy! On this episode, we go through a complicated sail all the way in to Calais, in France, right in to the English Chanel. Things get a litle more interesting as we have to wait outside the port until a swinging bridge is opened after the huge tide variation. We enjoy some French breakfast with some Nutella croissants and Larissa gets crazy feeding the seagulls. The weather was so nice that we ended up enjoying the beach and the summer for a litle longer than we should, and things got nasty the next day! We sailed out in to bad storm weather, because the forecast was underestimating things. Also in this episode… We’ll show you how to raise our sails in strong winds putting a reef in the main sail as we do it. In this video I try out a new dive spot to go Kayak diving off Dicky Beach in Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. If kayak diving is not on your bucket list it should be because you can go scuba diving at spots just that little bit further offshore where the reefs are generally home to more fish, coral and marine life. Nous fûmes gâtés: après avoir franchi dans des conditions assez calmes le redouté "Golfe des Peines" car très exposé à la grande houle du Pacifique qui peut en se combinant avec des courants de marée et des vents contraires lever des mers "très confuses". (joli euphémisme , pour ne pas effrayer le marin, figurant dans le guide nautique du secteur)-. ! Nous nous sommes engagés dans le canal Messier avec un vent portant soutenu (25 à 35 N) qui nous a propulsé tambour battant sous génois seul, dans la Caleta Point Lay. Superbe refuge surmonté d'une extraordinaire cascade.

Ad revenue, patreon, paypal donations, merchandise sales and affiliate links bring in about as much as a part time minimum wage job, and I'm able to make that work. When it isn't enough I go back to work, doing photography mostly, sometimes commercial video projects, but it takes me away from my travels and videos. - How much does it cost? I spend on average $2000 travelling, most of which is gas, some repairs, food, and on average less than $200 on any eating out, shopping or extra curricular expenditures. I make $200 a month from YouTube and $400 from Patreon. The rest I make from my work. - What camera do you use? I let the constraint of bringing my dog with me help me make some decisions, avoiding places that ban dogs, and spending more time out in nature instead of in the cities. - What happened to the girl? We decided to go separate ways (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPgxDIXxCjY&t=4s) - Are you rich or something? definitely not. I've spent some quality time homeless, I've struggled financially most of my life, and although I'm blessed with great friends and family as well as being able bodied white and male, I don't subscribe to the belief that you need someone footing your bills in order to travel the world. You need to sacrifice comfort, consistency, safety, time with family, and often your career but it is possible. - Why don't you have 10x more subscribers? My channel isn't that old, many of the bigger channels you can compare mine to started putting out videos a couple years before I began. I could always use your help sharing my videos, spreading the word, and connecting with cross promotional opportunities. Editing and travelling tend to take up all my time. - Where are you now? The top perk on my Patreon page is a live link of my location on google maps so you can get an active idea of where I am currently. If that's not an option for you there's also Instagram and Instagram stories that give you a much better idea of what I'm up to today.
