La caleta du réveillon. Après une semaine de navigation sous la pluie, la caleta Cinco Estrellas a accueilli Sir Ernst le soir du 31 décembre. Par chance, le lendemain nous avons eu droit à une matinée de beau temps sans vent. Nous avons étés émerveillés par la beauté du paysage entourant cette caleta. En saison, (hiver austral) elle sert de refuge aux pêcheurs qui viennent y stocker leur casiers à "centollas" (crabe royal de Patagonie).

We happened to have the worst night ever in Idra. All night with fenders face to face with the captains next to us and rescuing other charter boats that didn't have enough chain out, but, don't let that put you off visiting this amazing town. We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau. We are a family of 5. Our 3 kids are doing NZ correspondence school on board. They are growing to love it! What's not to love about 3 hours of school a day and then a different playground for the afternoon every day! We've traveled from New Zealand to Sardinia in Italy to pick up our boat and we plan over a few seasons to sail her back to New Zealand. We hope you enjoy following us on our adventures! Anchor Locker - Part 1 This episode is a Throwback project video, one of many I will be uploading every couple of weeks. As I mentioned before I undertook a lot of major projects in preparation for the Channel Islands trip and I shot a ton of video. Projects included: - New Anchor Locker and Anchor Set up - New Head (plumbing, holding tank, macerator pump) - New (Temporary) Nav Station This video gets us into the mock up and planning stage of the anchor locker itself. I needed to remove the old shelf and replace it with a new shelf and retaining wall that was glassed in. In the video I mention having the anchor locker drain into the bilge but I later decided on installing a drain on the hull near to the water line. There will be two more Anchor Locker videos I think. I know many of my subscribers really enjoy the refit videos so I will be working these in over the next couple of months. I just couldn’t wait to share my adventure videos, as that is the entire reason I worked so hard on these projects to allow me the ability to sail and explore new places. Thanks for watching! We finally got to leave Gran Canary for our 5.5 day sail to Cape Verde. It was a incredible sail with lots of fishing and great winds for half the trip. Seal Beach Yacht Club Saturday Sailors Series - 2018 Race 2 - January 20, 2018

After last Sunday's race was postponed due to the very strong winds which battered Sydney Harbour, two windward-return races were held today to determine the NSW 18ft Skiff Champio for 2017-2018 Season. In total contrast to last Sunday, a perfect 17-knot North East wind provided competitors and spectators with some of the most exciting racing we've seen, and the new 2-race format was an instant success.
