Rambler 88’s navigator, Jules Salter, had just completed his 14th consecutive Fastnet Race but said this was one of the best: “That was a great run on board a fantastic boat with a really good bunch of guys. It would have been great to have beaten the record, but at least I’ve still got the record because I was on board Abu Dhabi in 2011. The legendary Maxi 72 Sorcha finished just nine minutes behind her 77-foot rival Jethou, and owner Peter Harrison was delighted with his team’s performance: “There are always battles within the battle of the Fastnet, and our aim was always to try and beat Jethou. We got a nice wind shift before the Rock and made some quick gains there, and I think we were half an hour ahead of Jethou as we went round. But we had a disaster with our A1 headsail which we managed to blow up as we bore away. That forced a change of plans and meant we ended up having to sail north of the TSS rather than south which is where Jethou went.” Jethou was able to pass Sorcha on the water but handicap bragging rights still go to Sorcha.

Die nächsten 2 1/2 Jahre werden wir nutzen um den Pazifik zu durchqueren, den indonesischen Raum zu erkunden und letztendlich nach der Umrundung des Kap der guten Hoffnungen wieder Fuß auf europäisches Land zu setzen. Melissa's Garden is one of the most famous dive sites in the central part of Raja Ampat. Rightly so, the hard coral garden in the shallows here is outstanding! And sometimes our guests get really lucky and the dive site is completely full of fish! Filmed on board Coralia Liveaboard.

We sail 76 miles back from the Loyalty Islands to the New Caledonian mainland and are unexpectedly visited by humpback whales surrounding and diving under Escape as we enter the main passage.

Conception Island is definitely the definition of a paradise island to us. Amazing pristine wildlife, long white sandy beach, and almost nobody around. Although there were a couple other boats anchored there with us we barely even saw the people aboard.
