There are many examples of how we can get closer to the heart through the use of language. But we have heard little about local examples of efforts to teach another language through a performing experience.

In February 2019 we launched our newest location, Tahiti. It was awesome. The Tahiti Catamaran Course explores the fertile islands of French Polynesia including Bora Bora, Maupiti and Taha'a. In 1989 they launched Sailing Quarterly Video Magazine, a videotape series covering the sport of sailing.  In the process of videotaping these programs the Dubins learned sailing from their program hosts including America's  Cup veteran  Gary Jobson and ocean veterans Tristan Jones, Hal  Roth, Don Street, John Rousmanierre, Robert Perry and others. Spending 10 -15  days of each month on the water from 1989 - 1995  the Dubins had the opportunity to sail on hundreds of boats from Tonga to Norway, Romania to New Zealand. The boats  included typical charter boats to circumnavigators to America's Cup and Whitbread racers resulting in a broad experience covering all aspects of the fascinating sport of sailing. In 1995 the Dubins put down the cameras sold the house, bought a new boat and began to live the life they had been filming.

Nusa Lembongan is the mecca of diving in July if you want the best chance of seeing mantas and mola mola. We traveled there so that Brown could experience diving with an MM, but unfortunately, we did not see any. We did have some great encounters with mantas at Manta Point! It was truly amazing. Be prepared for VERY cold water...in the north of Lembongan the water temps were 72-74 degrees F. At Crystal Bay and in the South, the average water temperature was 59-64 degrees F. That's cold water with crazy thermoclines, down currents, up currents, and all other kinds of currents! We dove with Tamerind Divers and they are a fabulous dive shop! We cannot recommend them enough! The overall diving was great with lots of fishlife! Most dives are drift dives with a bit of current. Macro photography is difficult because of the current. Many of the reefs are in great shape. It's a lovely place to dive. Bring a jacket for the surface interval as it gets CHILLY with the wind gusts even in the sun! iFLY15 Hydrofoil Catamaran foiling stable in strong winds of 25 knots, gusting 30knots (windfinder data). Video taken while sailing in Cowes SailGP area. GP racing started only 2 hours later, as waiting for wind and chop to drop. When wind had dropped, SailGP was started in around 22knots, being considered the most extreme ever. Just amazing to see iFLY15 single handed catamaran foiling stable in even stronger winds. Some quotations: Tom Slingsby: " ha, ha, that was extreme, it doesn't get any more extreme than that, well, on that first reach we were just trying to keep the boat in the air" "This is the windiest conditions these teams have ever sailed in, never mind raced in" "Are these survival conditions? Yes, You need to survive, but if You do back off, it does not really work very well. Keeping the boats over the water, especially with the chop we are having here, will be really very important." "Just how big is the chop out there... is it still rolling? Well, it started off very, very big, now it has dropped off slightly, but I would call it extremely choppy."
