Nossa ancoragem em Abrolhos foi precária nas primeiras horas. Subimos com uma frente fria forte o suficiente para nos levar à vela até lá, então pegamos alguns de mar agitado e batendo um pouco. A primeira noite foi complicada para dormir, mas para mim ainda era um preço bem pequeno a ser pago por estar ali. Depois melhorou bastante. A primeira caída foi depois do passeio em terra pela Ilha Siriba. De cara vimos vários cardumes e uma arraia (pequena) que eu não consegui filmar. Mesmo assim foi lindo, incrível! Depois marcamos logo de cara um mergulho com o catamarã Zeus, do Thomas, que foi sensacional. Por questão de segurança ele nos levou primeiro para um mergulho mais fácil (mas com correnteza) para entender como nos comportávamos no mergulho. Mas foi bem desapontador, não vimos quase nada. Mas mesmo quando é ruim, mergulhar é bom! rs Agora os chapeirões... meu Deus do céu! Primeiro é lindo porque eles só existem ali! Segundo que parece que a gente está andando num jardim de chapeirões. A visibilidade não estava 100% (sim, porque a frente tinha acabado de passar), então eles iam se revelando à medida que nos aproximávamos. Uma a uma as formas era diversas, altos, baixos, compridos, largos... todos cheios de vida! Foi um dos mergulhos mais especiais da minha vida! Dive log: Tempo - 37 minutos. We travel onwards south through Spain visiting a few of the popular spots along the way and catching up with Leanne and Philsie. We’ve pulled the kids from school and are home schooling while on the road and the water. We spend time aboard our 34ft sailing boat in NZ and have bought a motorhome in Europe so as to tour the other side of the world. We’re keeping our memories on video here and the kids write narration and play guitars so we have music to use in the videos.

We return to our sailboat in the Azores to find that millions of bugs have died inside in our absence. Our cousin and her friends come to stay on the boat with us, so the first thing we do is PUT THEM TO WORK! After the boat is cleaned, we explore the island and get the bottom of the boat painted. Sometimes life out here is a bit crazy. This was one of those nights. We had run out of options on where to anchor. Dusk was upon us and we had to pull over. Almost immediately after dark all these fishermen started fishing around us. Why here? Why now? It just didn't make sense. Well it didn't take long for them to come up to us. Turns out they were using underwater flashlights and an air compressor to shoot fish at night (not to mention dynamite to stun the fish). Sailing Coco We slip away from the best anchorage we have seen in the last few months, Greece welcomed us well with such a fantastic island, amazing people and amazing food. We leave our anchorage in the worst rain, in fact the only rain we have seen since being in the Med. We spend the day sailing down the west coast of Corfu stopping off for lunch along the way. As night sets in Mother Nature treats us well by stopping the rain. But as soon as the rain stopped and the sun went down, we spend the night playing dodge the lightning strikes. We had about 3 thunderstorms surrounding us all night which was fun!! Once we finished playing and the sun greeted us in the morning, we were treating to GREAT winds and amazing scenes as we sail 50 NM from Corfu down to Patras, leaving us about 2-3 days from the Corinth Canal. Felt like we were on a David Attenborough show! It was a pretty insane and rememberable week in Panama. We encountered the local deadly Shelter Bay Croc and a beautiful gentle Mumma and Baby Sloth. IT WAS EPIC. After our Jungle encounters we headed up to the San Blas Islands where there was pure white sandy beaches and that turquoise blue water we are always chasing. While converting a Pearson Triton from fractional rig to masthead rig we also replace the old corroded aluminum boom with a new Z202 section from US Spars. The boom kit cost $892 plus delivery.
