We leave the Solomon Islands after 8 wonderful months. Our trip of nearly 1000 miles takes us across the Solomon and Coral Seas back to Australia. Crossing the South Pacific Convergence Zone we have to endure, rain, thunderstorms and squalls. The SPCZ is the southern hemispheres most persistent and expansive rain band displaying unpredictable weather.

Sailing hard across the top of Sumbawa we arrive at a small fishing village. Deciding to go ashore to find some fresh fruit we were pleasantly surprised. The welcome we got in Branti village was so warm and genuine, it actually shocked us a little. This year with covid we've gotten used to people being suspicious of us and keeping their distance but here.... none of that. The locals invited us into their homes, gave us coffee and food, got us drunk on local plan wine and even sung to us. Such an amazing experience! We hadn't planned on filming and only had Maries little Sony compact camera with us but I decided to record with that anyway. We sail with humpback whales across Bahia Banderas to Yelapa, another stunning place in the big Bay. It could be the greenest spot on the pacific coast of Mexico. It welcomes you with a lush jungle surrounded by three waterfalls. It is a place you have never seen before. A lot of steps are winding up the hill to narrow alleys along the village and donkey poop everywhere! It's one of their main transportation over there.
