Andalusian traditional cuisine has so much to offer and now you can try it from the comfort of your home with easy recipes from our Andalusian friend Teresa in her home: from fresh delicious cold tomato cream soup to warm savory stew with Iberian pork meat and desert "Jamon from the sky". Jamón Ibérico (Pata Negra) is the king amongst hams is produced from pigs who roam the countryside and feed on acorns. The ham is cured for between 14 and 36 months. The cuisine in Andalusia is an important part of the popular cuisine of Spain. A good example of the Mediterranean diet with the influence of the diverse cultures that have passed through our lands, such as the Roman or the Arab. I am sure you are curious now and would like to go and try that Spanish delicious, but I propose something better: Having some fun at home cooking your own typical Andalusian dish and surprise your friends with a tasty Mediterranean meal! Ingredients: -1 onion. -1 bay leaf. -1 clove garlic -1 tomato. -1 carrot. -1 bell pepper. -1 ripe tomato. -7 potatoes approximately. - A glass of white wine or fragrant wine. -Oil. -Salt. -Pepper. -Colorant. - 300 grams of pork ribs in small pieces. -Water. - Parsley (optional). Elaboration: Put in the pot, olive oil to make a sauce with garlic, onion, tomato, pepper, carrot, and bay leaf. When it is ready, add the peeled and cut potatoes into smaller pieces and add pepper, salt, a pinch of food coloring, and the meat, then the wine and stir a little for about two minutes. Next, we add the water to cover the potatoes and let it cook little by little, covering it, but not completely, with a lid, turning it from time to time and adding so that it does not stick, or in a fast pot under pressure, for about 15 minutes. Highlight video of the Hunter 340 "Sunspot Baby" and crew sailing in the Peanut Regatta of Waterford #41 sailboat race on Galveston Bay on December 20th. Ten boats racing, pursuit start, about nine nautical mile race. Light winds, beautiful Texas day and a great time with the crew and the other racers. Pourtant cet après-midi, les 15 nœuds pleine face, n’effrayent pas les trois catamarans charter qui prennent la mer en direction de Durban ! Aucune envie pour nous d’aller nous confronter aux forces de la nature, nous patientons … 17 décembre, 3 heures quarante, sur un demi-moteur Black Lion se tient prêt à progresser vers le sud de l’Afrique. La sortie de la marina n’a pas posé de problème et si le vent se maintient favorable, nous ne devrions pas avoir besoin des services de notre propulseur avant l’arrivée. Interceptée par notre grand-voile et la voile préférée de Tchoupi, notre gennaker, la brise matinale apporte l’énergie dont nous avons besoin mais avec elle, une odeur nauséabonde nous répulse ! C’est infect, le relent immonde vient de terre et amis de la poésie vous allez être servis… Figurez-vous que l’odeur en question est dû essentiellement au sulfure d’hydrogène dégagé par le processus de fabrication de l’usine de papier de Richards Bay. Exactement le même gaz qui est à l’origine de l’odeur des excréments et des flatulences ! Avec ça dans les narines les bananas, je vous garantis que vous êtes mieux derrière votre lecture ! Malgré un environnement proche de la nature, les incommodités de cette ville portuaire sont nombreuses, s’ajoutent aux génances olfactives, les préjudices causés par la fabrique chimique, le trafic engendré par le port connu pour un des plus grands du pays et les nuisances poussiéreuses dues à l’usine de charbon. D’ailleurs Blacky va s’en souvenir, son pont est noir d’estampilles et ses filets complètement maculés ! Il nous a tellement freiné que nous avons dû relancer notre moteur pour ne pas reculer ! Cette histoire ajoutée au temps gris, joue sur le moral de mon capitaine. 116 milles en 24 heures alors que nous en avions fait presque 80 en 12, mais pourquoi ne touche-t-on pas le courant des aiguilles ? Et juste au même moment… à 30 milles de Durban, Blacky accélère ! 8, 9, 10 nœuds, cette fois nous y sommes, reste plus qu’à nous laisser porter par ce tapis roulant ! 19 décembre, mon MacGuyver des océans n’arrête pas, hier c’était sur un problème électrique qui l’a dû s’interroger, un fils qui pour on ne sait quelle raison s’est mis à chauffer et aujourd’hui c’est l’inox qui cherche à nous questionner ! La tige de maintien de notre arrêtoir sur le rail de grand-voile vient de casser net, obligés d’improviser en bloquant par perçage et boulonnage de fortunes. Technique que nous devrons adopter également pour une des poulies du rail du Solent, prise, elle aussi du même mal ! En compensation de nos peines, la nature nous distrait ! Ondulants dans la longue houle, des puffins sont à la cape, et pendant que ceux-là reposent leurs ailes, d’autres s’amusent à planer en collaborants avec l’air produit par le cambrement des vagues. Parallèlement, comme sortis de leur asile, des dauphins manifestent leur présence et sous 3 ris et foc, dans un bon 15 nœuds, établit, l’homologue du courant du Mozambique, vertueux et bienveillant, participe aux records de prouesses de notre Lion Noir… 100 milles en 10 heures quarante. 20 décembre, ce matin sous un vrai beau ciel azur mon tchoupi est heureux ! Il a vu avant mon réveil, des fous aux pieds bleus, un souffle de baleine et une otarie furtive, signes que le froid approche ! Ce qui approche clairement aussi avec la sortie du courant des aiguilles, c’est la route des cargos, et il devient évident que nous sommes sur leur trajectoire. Ils circulent par dizaine et si dans certains pays, les activités « non essentielles » ne sont plus autorisées à vivre, il semble que "l’essentiel" du monde passe par cette industrie maritime hallucinante ! Est-ce « grâce » à cette activité, qu’à plus de 60 milles des côtes nous captons des ondes internet ? L’agrément est futile mais pouvoir donner de nos nouvelles, en direct et en plus au coucher de soleil à tous nos followers nous amuses… 21 décembre, notre Black Lion serait-il un lion protecteur, l’arche du vingt et unième siècle, un lieu de repos à tous les passereaux ? Si c’est le cas, nous devons nous préparer aux sauvetages ! Pour la troisième fois, un petit être au gris pennage, vient trouver refuge à nos côtés, nous nous devons de le sauver et avec le changement de programme inopiné dut à la météo, nous voulons croire que notre harassé a toutes ses chances. In a normal year, getting to see friends who are literally 10 miles from us would be a no-brainer. Add a foreign country and COVID and it becomes quite complicated and requires ingenuity to make it work. But, where there is a will, there is a way! Our DEAR friends, the Schaibles, happened to be on a short vacation in St. Lucia at the same time we were closing on our boat. Our hope was to take them sailing on our new purchase, but due to COVID, First4Sail, a COVID sanctioned boat was employed! Thanks to Ben & Vicky and their quick thinking and planning, we were able to sail down to Marigot and meet up with the Schaibles in the bay. We then spent a few precious hours with them sailing, laughing, catching up, and swimming! Other than a super hot sun and little wind, it was a perfect day. We sail from Zoe Falls to the northern most point of Hinchinbrook Island and check out Richard's Bay, before tucking into Missionary Bay for the night. We have a fish and try our luck catching a barramundi. We then head to Hudson Island and on to Mourilyan Harbour where we sit out a strong south easterly blow.
