In part eighteen of this series on how to build a wooden Snipe class sailboat I show how to make a tiller and tiller extension for the rudder. I mill the rough parts our of mahogany and then cut them to shape with a bandsaw. Then I hand finish the parts with planes, chisels, and sand paper. Happy New Year sail in the Charleston Harbor with a mysterious fogline that made Sullivans Island Lighthose totally disappear! We sailed out towards Fort Sumpter and had to turn around at the fog, it took our wind away, so to speak. What an awesome sail out on the water with a superb crew and good times were had by all!
