Nikau is back and in the water for another season of fun! After being in the yard all winter Nikau is now located in the beautiful Bay of Islands, in this episode we explore the historic town of Russell, free dive at scenic fishing hotspot the 'hole in the rock' by Cape Brett and make the most of diving, snorkeling and exploring this gorgeous corner of New Zealand. We are the Robbins family sailing on our boat named Nikau. Our family of 5 along with our cat and dog traveled halfway around the world from Italy back to our homeland of New Zealand from 2017 until 2019. We risked everything to get back to our beloved Pickle! We travelled 1000's of kms and scorching temperatures in a old banged out Spainish car, but it was so worth it, and it feels amazing to finally be back! Nous sommes fatigués mais tellement soulagés ! Les Sea Rescue viennent de nous amarrer solidement au ponton du False Bay Yacht Club, mon capitaine a doublé les amarres, notre Blacky va pouvoir récupérer ! Contracté toute la nuit, comme par instinct de survie, il s’est agrippé par de vaillants efforts à celles qui auraient pu être, en d’autres circonstances, un traquenard ! Deux chaines perdues, peut-être celles de deux navires précédemment dans la détresse, ont fait de leur abandon, notre providence ! Sous rafales encore bien soutenues, sereins, nous nous remettons de nos émotions en remerciant Tyché de sa protection. Le vent peut souffler, réfugiés et fermement retenus au quai, nous pouvons nous accorder des explorations pédestres et plus encore, profiter d’être appontés pour descendre avec plus de facilité nos vélos ! Première halte, Fish Hoek, à 6,5 kilomètres en longeant la mer. Dans l’idée, nous pensions nous renseigner pour prendre le train de nos souvenirs jusqu’à Cap Town, mais depuis Simon’s Town, la ligne est bloquée ! Tous les ans, quand le printemps austral se termine, les gros coups de vent sur cette côte sont fréquents et avec eux, la forte houle s’émancipe, donnant à la nature le dernier mot ! L’eau franchie les limites de l’homme, le sable envahit le rivage et la voie ferrée est ensevelie. Mais les forts roulis n’effraient pas ces pêcheurs ancestraux de cette petite ville côtière ! Depuis des siècles, la technique est la même, ils veillent, observent l’océan, guettent les signes, et si tous les critères sont réunis, déchargent leur bateau arrivé sur remorque, le poussent à force d’homme, négocient les bonnes vagues, et avec beaucoup de coordination, sans moteur, se retrouvent de l’autre côté des rouleaux. Une fois loin du ressac, l’un des pêcheurs qui a aidé à pousser l’embarcation au-delà des vagues, s’accroche à une corde, reliée au filet, saute à l’eau, rejoint la plage et laisse défiler le cordage, pendant que le reste de l’équipage rame pour s’éloigner du rivage d’au moins deux cent mètres. Lorsqu’ils sont assez loin, l’un d’eux jette le filet à la mer, tous reviennent sur la plage et assistés par une dizaine de leurs confrères, ramènent à la force de leurs bras, le rets, piège de kilos insoupçonnés de saumons de Cap ! Captivés par la faune et la flore importante de cette région, nous ne pouvons-nous empêcher de photographier notre environnement ! À False Bay, quand le plan d’eau est calme, en kayak, indiscrètement, nous allons évaluer l’ampleur des dégâts occasionnés par les cormorans sur les quelques bateaux, devenus territoire de nidification ! Autre secteur préservé à la couvaison, la Boulders Beach, à moins de deux kilomètres de la marina ! Ici, la population n’est pas commune et pour tout dire, les oiseaux qui y sont établis font l’attraction des investigateurs. Fourrés d’un joli plumage noir et blanc, debout sur leurs courtes pattes et utilisant leurs ailes comme nageoires, ils sèment la confusion sur leur nom ! Non se ne sont pas des pingouins mais bien des manchots ! Réduit à quatre-vingt-dix pour cent de leurs effectifs, les individus sont maintenant sous bonne garde. Quand nous ne sommes pas près des flancs de collines qui bordent le littoral, c’est pour nous retrouver à leur sommet, car les treks dans la nature sud-africaine ne manquent pas. En amoureux de vie sauvage, nous sommes fascinés par la quantité de variétés de plantes. Avec plus de 8600 espèces végétales sur une superficie de 90 000 kilomètres carrés, ce n’est pas pour rien que la région détient le titre de royaume floral du Cap ! Entre cascade et points de vue, nous nous refaisons une santé et si nos jambes sont encore motivées à l’éminence, les tremblements que provoquent en nous, la fugue en hauteur du drone de Tchoupi, emporté par le vent, affaiblissent notre panache ! Mais que la vue est belle !

À bord du Rebelle nous avons installé un système de pilote automatique NKE Marine Electronics pour le confort, la sécurité et l'autonomie en navigation. L’appairage est-il différent en fonction des émetteurs ? NON. Que ce soit un émetteur gyropilote, multifonction ou équipier ce sera la même procédure d’appairage. Par contre, si vous aviez un émetteur déjà appairé et que vous souhaitez en ajouter un nouveau, il faudra faire la procédure en reprenant tous les émetteurs, même celui déjà installé. .............................................................................................................. Inventaire du matériel d’appairage nke marine electronics Le récepteur, boitier noir avec marqué NKE Marine Electronique, est placé au niveau de la table à carte sur notre voilier de formation le Rebelle. Sur ce récepteur nous pouvons observer un petit bouton INIT. Pour réaliser l’appairage des émetteur NKE, il faudra se munir d’un petit outil pointu de faible diamètre. Nous avons choisi un tournevis cruciforme. Attention de ne pas prendre quelque chose de trop pointu non plus. En bas à gauche du boitier nous avons repéré deux voyants lumineux l’un au dessus de l’autre. Bien évidemment le boitier est relié à une antenne déportée. Chez Voile In Portugal nous avons un émetteur gyropilote (télécommande pilote) et des émetteurs équipiers. voir le matériel sur le site NKE : https://www.nke-marine-electronics.fr/ .............................................................................................................. La procédure d’appairage des émetteurs étape par étape ETAPE 1 : S’assurer que sur chaque des émetteurs la fonction MOB ne soit pas active. Si le voyant lumineux clignote cela veut dire que la fonction est active, il faut donc la désactiver. ETAPE 2 : Pour activer la procédure d’appairage, appuyer de manière prolongée à l’aide de l’outil pointu sur le bouton INIT du boitier récepteur noir. Le voyant lumineux supérieur rouge s’allume. La procédure d’appairage peut commencer. Des bips sonores se font entendre au rythme de 1 par seconde. Nous avons 1 minute pour réaliser l’appairage de notre premier émetteur avec le récepteur. ETAPE 3 : Choisir une des télécommandes à appairer. Sur cette télécommande, choisir un bouton sur lequel nous allons appuyer pour faire la procédure. S’il y a plusieurs boutons comme sur l’émetteur gyropilote, nous pouvons choisir n’importe quel bouton. – appuyer sur l’un des boutons pendant 3 bips – relâcher – appuyer sur le même bouton pendant 1 bip – relâcher – appuyer une dernière fois sur le même bouton pendant 3 bips – relâcher Si le récepteur émet 3 petits bips rapides, c’est que cela n’a pas fonctionné. Le tempo de bips émis par le récepteur repart, vous pouvons recommencer la procédure du début. Si le récepteur émet un bip long à la fin de la procédure c’est que l’appairage de la télécommande a fonctionné. Nous pouvons passer à l’appairage de l’émetteur suivant. ETAPE 4 : Une fois tous les émetteurs appairés, nous pouvons mettre fin à la procédure en coupant le son sur le boitier noir (récepteur) grâce à notre outil pointu toujours sur le bouton INIT. ETAPE 5 : Afin de s’assurer que les émetteurs communiquent bien avec le récepteur et l’antenne déportée nous appuyons sur n’importe quel bouton de la t??lécommande. Si le voyant rouge supérieur s’allume sur le récepteur sous l’inscription INIT alors l’émetteur communique bien avec le récepteur, si le voyant inférieur s’allume alors l’émetteur communique bien avec l’antenne déportée. Nous pouvons faire le test avec chaque télécommande. .............................................................................................................. Vendée Globe - Dimanche 11 janvier 2021 Après son avarie de pilote survenue il y a deux jours, Groupe Sétin repart mieux que jamais.
