The bottom of the boat wasn't wet so it was the ideal opportunity to get on with more work on the underside this week. We continue the awkward work of treating and painting the flakey areas and yet again discover things are not as bad as they appear. We are Andy, Melissa and Jack, a sailing family based in North Wales, and for the past couple of years we have been looking for a bluewater sailing yacht to take us around the world. Well we've finally found her. Our new sailing yacht is a John Teal designed 38ft Steel Pilothouse Cutter. She has been standing ashore for at least 15 years and now we're embarking on the huge challenge of refitting her and doing her up ready to go sailing around the world. Vlog #30 In San Blas, Mexico, we are finally getting out mast put back in! The awesome guys at the boat yard had never attempted it before but we decided to try anyway, with a boat lift! haha They assured us they could make it happen! Luckily after a lot of readjusting we finally got it in. We put the dingy back in the water, finished reattaching the rigging and got all the sails reattached. The sails were very quick and easy, just kidding we put them up wrong multiple times haha. We then took a trip with some friends we had made to la tovara which is a crocodile sanctuary! Was such a beautiful ride and atmosphere. We swam in the fresh water and jumped off the swing ropes, was a great day! --------------------------------- *WHO ARE WE?* •We are a Canadian couple, Travis and Jessica. It's been almost a year since COVID-19 first revealed itself and now it feels like a bad house guest who just doesn't want to go away even living on a sailboat. Living full time on our sailboat, circumnavigating the globe, we haven't been too bothered by the effects until really now as this Pandemic has put a hold on our passage across the South Pacific.
