Fast communication between the spotter and helm is essential to navigate the dubiously chartered coral reefs and bommie fields of Fiji and we've often envied crew on other boats who manage to do this without shouting at eachother down the length of the boat! Someone at @hollylandtech obviously noticed our lack of effective communication and sent us some cool Solidcom C1 Pro headsets to try out.. and boy have they made a difference We turn down 90% of free products offered for us by brands to 'try out' because.. well, we know we just won't use them, but these headsets have been an absolute Godsend, so thanks to the guys at @Hollylandtech

It is a nice cross section of brands and owners who no doubt enjoy meting each other and touring each others boats, catching some tips and ideas from each other. Here in San Diego, we're lucky to enjoy year-round sailing, with our crew hitting the water 7 days a week, all 12 months of the year. Southern California's weather during January, February, and March is hard to beat-lately, we've been enjoying sunny days with temperatures in the 60s and 70s. One of the most common questions we hear this time of year is: "Will I get cold on the water?" The truth is, San Diego's winter weather isn't all that different from fall or spring. Captain Dave's Tip: Bring an extra layer-like a windbreaker or jacket-to stay comfortable during your sail. Whale-watching season is happening NOW through mid-April. Join one of our Whale-Watching Sails to catch gray whales in their natural habitat as they migrate south to Baja, California, right along our coastal waters.
