This new catamaran (according to the quick survey we carried out among you, dear readers, when we offered you invitations to the Cannes Yachting Festival) has been the most eagerly awaited model of the autumn season, so we rushed to over to check it out for you. From our glimpse from the dock, the 43 features a rig that is stepped further forward than on the 42, and it has an overlapping jib. The design shows a slender, sloping coachroof base that refines the superstructure. At the stern, the bulwark is cut out to ensure direct access to the quay when the catamaran is moored alongside. On deck, the 43 gains a forward cockpit compared to the 42. The helm station remains raised on the port side but is now accompanied by a U-shaped bench seat rather than a simple sunlounger. Inside, the builder has designed an ingenious modular table that can straddle the nacelle and cockpit while providing seating for 12. A large opening hatch is installed in the forward face of the nacelle, not unlike the one on the very first Bali, the 4.5. The forward volume of the hulls has been optimized to increase sleeping capacity - in the Owner's version, the bed is installed forward and there is a proper desk, like you would have at home. The 4-cabin version offers all equivalent volumes. A test sail is planned for October off Mallorca. ? 3 weeks into Cody's stay in Norway, I got to see more and more of his crazy. I didn't really have a harness at the time, so Cody climbed the mast to the second speeader using a spare halyard with a loop for one of his hands to hold...! We were enjoying the sense of freedom, getting to know each other, and a Norwegian summer in MAY- without a single day of rain. Cody was in awe of the fact that the ice had just melted a few weeks before, and we were all swimming. #May30-2018 #shorts
