Did you know that National Hispanic Heritage month starts today? So to celebrate my own Hispanic heritage, I bring to you the Paloma, the national drink of Mexico! Yes it's true! The Paloma - not the margarita - is the national drink of Mexico! How to make a Paloma Ingredients 1.5 ounces tequila 1 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed 1 ounce grapefruit juice A splash of Jarritos grapefruit soda, chilled Garnish: lime wheel Garnish: tajin rim (optional) Steps Rub a lime wedge around the edge of a highball glass and dip the rim in tajin (optional). Add the tequila, lime juice, and grapefruit juice to the glass, then fill with ice. Top with a splash of chilled Jarritos grapefruit soda and stir gently to combine. Garnish with a lime wheel. The new Minicat 520 Explorer made its debut at the Annapolis Spring Sailboat Show and it definitely caught the eye of SAIL Editor-in-Chief Wendy Mitman Clarke. The 17-foot beach cat was designed for sailors who were exploring the Arctic, so it's built to withstand some heavy stuff. Its eye-catching feature is the tent that's on the trampoline up forward. You can be underway with this fully deployed with your crew tucked away and snoozing, or you can lower it or even remove it and camp on the beach next to the boat. A first for Minicat, this boat has a centerboard that draws about 2 feet and helps with upwind performance. It also has a square top mainsail with two reefs, a roller furling jib, and an option for a Code Zero. Best of all, it breaks down and packs into three six-foot-long bags that can be checked as airport luggage, so you could conceivably fly this boat to whatever destination you like and go sailing for as long as you like.
