? Last night, the wind picked up and shifted direction, so we switched to a wing-on-wing setup-but then snap-our first pole broke! Luckily, we have a second one, and since then, we've been making great progress at around 7.5 knots in 20-30 knots of wind. The best part? Dolphins every single day! And thanks to Frankie's amazing cooking, we're eating well too. This has to be one of the quirkiest sailing catamaran designs out there. The Island Hopper 37 was developed by Uwe Jasperson (JAZ Marine) who was involved in the early Gunboats. ?? This coastal cruiser is 37' high performance cruising cat with a forward cockpit. The boat a real "Jetsons" feel to it : a great boat for fast cruising and weekend trips. ?? It's a pretty unique design, from the forward cockpit (very unusual in this size of yacht) to the light displacement and galley-down design, this boat focuses on performance, a boat to sail. I believe they only made a couple of them, so ultimately this was too niche for the market back then. ?? What are your thoughts?
