One of the most intimidating things for sailors and boaters pulling into Fort Lauderdale for the first time is dealing with the network of opening bridges on the Intracoastal Waterway. In Fort Lauderdale and the surrounding areas on the ICW the bridges open on a schedule with a request over the VHF radio. They monitor channel 9, and open every thirty minutes upon request. Heading north from Port Everglades to Hillsboro Inlet here is the list of bridges and their opening schedule: 17th Street Cause Way - On the hour or half-hour Las Olas Bridge - Quarter or three-quarter hour Sunrise Bridge - On the hour or half-hour Oakland Park Bridge - Quarter or three-quarter hour Commercial Bridge - On the hour or half-hour Atlantic Bridge - Quarter or three-quarter hour NE 14th St Bridge - Quarter or three-quarter hour Hillsboro Inlet Bridge - On the hour or half-hour For more information on anything boating or sailing related, don't hesitate to reach out. www.CatamaranCentral.com info@CatamaranCentral.com

When purchasing a catamaran there are a lot things to worry about, so the more you know going into the purchase process, the less stress you'll face. Having a basic understanding of the contract is the first step in the process. The entire IYBA Purchase and Sale Agreement can sometimes be a bit overwhelming for a first time catamaran buyer. If you're not certain of the terms in an agreement, we highly recommend consulting an attorney. In our opinion, the most important thing to understand are the different dates in the agreement. In this video we'll briefly talk about these four different set of dates, and what they mean. For a copy of the IYBA agreement we use please shoot us an email.
