Discovering the excellent diving on offer on the sub tropical waters around the Cape Verde Islands in the Atlantic Ocean off the West African Coast. Great marine life and very few divers make this an excellent option for holidaying divers. Combine this with an exceptional dry and sunny climate its worth considering as an alternative to the Red Sea for European divers. Diving Southern Mozambique with the Amazing Gozo Azul Diving a PADI 5* IDC Centre based in Ponto do Ouro. Diving in the marine reserve this region is famous for the world class shark diving site of Pinnacles. Home to Tigers, Hammerheads, Silky, Dusky and Grey Sharks to name a few. We visited during October 2023 during the shoulder season which meant some big swells and windy conditions at sea. However despite the challenging conditions which certainly had a detrimental effect of the visibility underwater we were treated to some great diving. The fish life is probably some of the most prolific we have witnessed for many years which is a testament to the Marine reserve, and yes we saw plenty of sharks. Highlights were our first encounters with Tiger Sharks, and the daily interaction with the migrating Humpback Whales, Quite Amazing.

Some great diving can be found in the North West corner of Mauritius. We dived with the excellent Dive Spirit Mauritius a PADI 5 star dive centre in Trou Aux Biches. 40 dive sites within 10 minutes of the dive centre means no bobbing around in a boat between dives, instead a coffee, change the camera batteries and relax at the dive centre while the excellent staff lead by Local dive instructor of 22 years Thierry change your tanks for you. Great Wrecks are the highlight of many dives with cool critters, friendly Turtles, shoals of fish and if your lucks in a visit from the resident pod of Dolphins.

An amazing Manta Ray dive aboard the Nautilus Two Liveaboard in the Maldives. Diving the Fesdu Wreck in the North Ari Atoll we were joined for 30 minutes by a young and extreamly curious Manta Ray. Not the normal place you would expect to encounter such an amazing creature.

Amazing temperate diving in the Poor Knights Marine reserve, off Tutukaka in the Bay of Islands on New Zealand's North Island. Fantastic Marine life and excellent visibility makes for some spectacular scuba diving. Our first experience of diving the Kelp encrusted walls of the Marine park made a spectacular view with the whole dive site moving in time to the sea. The Sea temperatures varied between 17-21 Celsius on the dive sites. 7mm wet-suits made for comfortable dives.
