The collaboration between Atinary and the Swiss national initiative for catalysis known as SwissCat+, based in ETH Zurich, demonstrates the transformative power of AI-driven experimentation. Envisioned by Prof. Christophe Copéret and executed and managed by Dr. Paco Laveille and his team, ETH Zurich's AI-Driven R&D Lab utilizes Atinary's SDLabs platform, which guided the AI-driven process to find the optimal catalyst for the conversion of carbon dioxide (CO2) into methanol. This project demonstrates the power of augmenting humans with AI and robotics to solve complex R&D challenges, significantly enhancing efficiency, productivity and success rates while minimizing raw material use and costs.
In this webinar, we discuss the challenges in R&D that come with screening large and complex chemical spaces and how this exciting collaboration between Atinary and IBM Research allowed for a fully integrated AI, machine learning, and robotics workflow to close the loop in R&D and enhance the speed and efficiency of R&D in chemical synthesis.
Invited participation of Atinary Technologies' founders at AgFunder's AGM, SynBioBeta Conference in San Jose, California, May 2024 Moderated by Robin Ranjit Singh Chauhan, AgFunder's Head of Engineering. Featured Panelists: Dr. Hermann Tribukait, Atinary Co-Founder & CEO, Dr. Loïc Roch, Atinary Co-Founder & CTO Other panelists on camera: Anne Chen, Cromatic CTO, and Ofer Lavi, Dataspan AI CEO & Co-Founder
In this webinar, Dr. Paco Laveille and Dr. Loïc Roch discussed the optimization and discovery of catalysts for chemicals and fuels production and a specific use case and the initial results of the collaboration between Swiss Cat+ and Atinary Technologies that we recently featured on the cover pager article in the Cell Press journal #ChemCatalysis, and as in the Research Highlight Section of #NatureCatalysis. The process presented involves studying large multi-parameter spaces and evaluating millions of combinations. You will learn how combining AI, robotics, and data analytics allow the ETH and Atinary teams to dramatically accelerate catalyst development, rationalizing the screening of chemical spaces and increasing the throughput and reproducibility of experimental data. This is a revolutionary method to accelerate chemical reactions focusing on heterogeneous catalyst optimization for the conversion of CO2 to methanol. The results demonstrate orders of magnitude acceleration and significant performance improvements while minimizing costs and unwanted by-products.
